It is a pleasure to be able to greet you through this website and to know that you are interested in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. Our municipality has approximately 12.000 inhabitants, making it the second largest nucleus of the Alt Penedés region. The inhabitants are welcoming, hard working, supportive and always open to meeting new people. All of the above you may discover for yourself as you navigate this website.

The location of Sant Sadurní, close to Barcelona, as well as to Tarragona, with excellent communications, has enabled it to expand in the social and economic areas. As from last century, Sant Sadurní has focused its economy on the production of cava, a fact which has made it known as the Cava Capital, since 90% of the bottles of cava in the country are produced in our municipality.

Currently, we are at a very important moment in our history. The Urban Plan is being reviewed. It is very clear to us that we wish to maintain the distinctiveness of the town which has been forged over history by our people. We want to continue as the Cava Capital, but at the same time we believe in the potential that we have in other economic fields such as services, commerce, tourism and small and medium size industries, etc., which should strengthen even further our claim as the Cava Capital and at the same time auger well for the future. We continue to work hard to maintain the balance of being a medium size town, capable of offering quality of life to its inhabitants, thanks to a good complement of services, and at the same time economic and cultural potential. And all of this we are doing thanks to the great social structure that is possessed by Sant Sadurní.

This website has been constructed with the will to be a bridge between the Town Hall and citizens, between the world and Sant Sadurní. This is the marvel given to us by new technology, the manner of getting to know about things around the world without moving from home, the ability to know things about the municipality just by pressing a button.
